Black sunflower seeds are not good for birds. Look for a mix with grey ones instead. If you bird eats lots of black ones they can make the bird over heated and they can die.

Moving cage to different room?

Im thinking of moving my conure's and IRN's cage into my bedroom, at the moment their in the lounge room.

Would this be a bad idea? The conure has been in the lounge room for 2 years and the IRN for about 3 months.
They only come out in my bedroom so they are used to my room.

What do you guys think?

Total seperation for each other is probaly not a very good idea because they seem to like each other very much. Could you get another cage (one the same size as they have now) and put it right next to the other one? This way they will be in seprate cages and will still be able to see and talk to one...

ummm.... you cant buy a macaw for $599, they are usually $5000
it also depends what color it was, some IRN mutations are very expensive, and thats just for a parent raised bird.
normal greens, blues, lutinos and albinos are going to be much cheaper than other mutations.

you can do it two different ways
one is by pricking there leg with a pin and getting a drop of blood

i think the tests are about 99.9% acurate or something like that (unless you get your DNA on there blood or feathers)

My birds are the oppisite to yours
Mine look horrible when on a mostly seed diet, hardly any color in them and they have no energy...
But on a pelleted diet they look terrific :)

Lutino x Green Cinnamine?

Grey x Green Cinnamine?

Albino x Green Cinnamine?

Just curious

what would you get if you crossed a blue (cock) with a green cinnamine (hen)?
or a green cinnamine (cock) with a blue (hen)?

would the results both be the same if both birds where not split to anything?
im not going to atually breed this color but i was just curious to see what would happen
