stand in front of your birds cage with a bowl full of popcorn eating it if your bird yells turn your back to them...... ignore the noise totally when he is quite turn round & give him some (weather you put it in their bowl for panicky birds or let the tame one take it from your hand this will teach ...

it varies from bird to bird ive had some that i can touch straight away and yet others that wont let me touch them at all some irns just never get the patting thing ...... they can be very tame but just dont like hands touching them for only having indy a couple of weeks sounds like your doing very ...

when i got our second irn i slowly introduced them
with kieron in a seperate cage this worked well for a while till one day i got up to put them to bed & they were both in rikus cage this worked for them

it is possible to tame a bird that has been in an avairy all her life but you might never get a bird that likes being patted
take things slow with her let her set the pace

i have a rescue irn that went through a similar history to your she was rehomed 3 times by the same parrot rescue she has major trust issues too also my poor gals wing was broken & either not set properly or not set at all (unsure her wing was like that when the rescue first got her) trivi is slowly...

you said indys a girl females are very territorial of their cages try letting her come out of her cage f by herself then getting her to step up then if you can take her to a smaller room where she cant see her cage for her taming work ( bathrooms work well) and use a food thats not always available ...

the earliest i have ever seen a irn get his ring was 14 months old but that was a rare one most people say by about 2 1/2 years it doesnt sound right to me if he has a full prominant ring its pretty hard to tell the age they really dont change much once the ring comes in

ther smallest cage ive hade succsess with breeding inside was a 3 foot wide by 2 foot deep by 6 foot high
