Cock bird rolling head
I looked in the other thread about odd behaviour but didn't find any thing that quite fit, so I do apologise if this has been asked before. How do these little guys manage in the wild? Makes you wonder, doesn't it. I do have to admit to not killing before I feed to my Beardies ... not too sure if I should start now. But have known black crickets to bite the inside of one of the beardies mouth and made it bleed ... alot. I think I may g...

Meal worms/ wax worms
We also keep reptiles and always have live foods about so I was wondering if it would be okay to feed the Alexes live foods such as mealworms and waxworms as part of their protein needs?
Would you feed these as a treat, part of the main diet or not at all?
Thanx

At the moment, the Alexes aviary is very bare with just two perches one at either end of their 7ft flight. I wanted to keep things to a min at the moment as I did not want them hurting them self's it they flapped about in panic, but I would like to slowly introduce some toys over the next month or s...

I keep have a look at them and pinching myself ju...

Hello
Hiya I am a new Alexandrine Parakeet owner to a wonderfull 3 year old male and a 18 month old girl, sadly both aviary parent reared birds so not overly tame as yet, but I live in hope that one day we will have a good freindship going on between us. I have steadily worked my way up through the birds ...
