Re: How I tamed my 2 year old non handfed RIngneck

Congratulations! I'm in the process of taming my 4 year old IRN she has never been a people person but we are getting there. I can put my hands in the cage, feed & touch her without being bitten now. Unfortunately she is moulting at the moment so she is a little evil but that will pass :)

Re: Smaller cage ok for 7 days??

Thank you :) I decided to keep her in there anyway, she seems happy enough hates me at the moment though so medicating her today should be fun :-P

Smaller cage ok for 7 days??

Hi Everyone Indi and myself had our first trip to the vet this morning and she was given some antibiotics for a bacterial infection. I have to administer the meds orally for the next 7 days and I was wondering if you think it would be ok to keep her in the smaller cage for the 7 days? She is extreme...

Re: Some advice please :)

We are off to the vet tomorrow morning she seems a little better in regards to her nose runningnbut I have noticed her droppings are a little greener than normal. She is still acting normal but I would never forgive myself if she was to go down hill without vet attention.

Re: Toweling an untamed parrot?

I had to do this with my IRN as she is impossible to catch. I had to do it to put her in a small cage to move house. I guess my only advice is don't over think it . I did the first time freaked out because I thought I was going to hurt her & burst into tears. The next week I just went straight i...

Some advice please :)

Hi everyone, I have recently moved house and obviously brought my IRN with me. She has gone from being inside 24/7 to being outside 24/7. She has developed a slightly runny nose (when I say runny it was a small bubble out of one nostril), I noticed it a few days ago but it seemed to go away. But thi...

Re: Advise on a potentially sick birdie :(

I'm not too sure when breeding season is? She doesn't seem to have made any signs of making a nest. I just put her out in the loungeroom with me this morning. Still sitting at the top of the cage, is clucking at me and playing with toys still. I will see how she goes today, I will try and find a goo...

Advise on a potentially sick birdie :(

My 3 year old female IRN Indi seems very dull. She is all puffed up and has just been sitting at the top of the cage most of the day not making too much noise. Indi has eaten a little today and has had fluid. She also did come down to the bottom of the cage to attack one of her foot toys a few times...

Indi is slowly starting to be my friend again which is good, I have been scamming her/him with Pine nuts for kisses ......

IRN scared

Hi everyone, last week i took my IRN out of it's cage and put Indi into a smaller cage so i could give the cage a really good clean outside. I couldnt just leave Indi out as I have a few inside pets (cats/dogs etc) that i think would try and play a little to rough. Indi went back into the cage fine ...
