What a great idea! I am gonna try to make one for Blue. He might love it! It looks like this project takes rather minor time or expense. So, if he gets bratty with his new tent... I'll just take it out of the cage.

Blue hated baths too at first. I stopped using his small coop cup for water and made him a tub out of one of those plastic microwavable bread pans. I decided where to put the "tub" in his cage where he wouldn't be perching above (and thereby pooping into) it. Then I held the bread pan up ...

Blue's First Molt - And A Big Bonus!

I've had Blue since Dec 27th of last year. I was told he was 6-9 months old when I got him at the pet store. He has been going through his first molt since I've owned him. It has been going on slowly for weeks. He looks so scruffy and has dropped so many big beautiful feathers, which I've kept in a...

I had trouble getting blue onto the pellets. I soaked his in a small amount of apple juice and he ate them. Eventually I added less and less juice until it was none. I also offered them first thing in the morning and nothing else for 2 hours. Now he loves them right from the bag.
