Re: WE HAVE EGGS!!
Hi Wessel - try this link to the topic on how to post pics - I have a photobucket account that I load my pics to, and then use the links to load up here. So, both chicks are feathering up really quickly now (or at least it seems that way!) Here's a few pics from the past couple of days. Day 22 (Mon ...

Re: blue cock green hen surprises all round
Hi Shaun, So it appears you blue cock is split to both ino AND cinnamon then? And yes, the Lutino chick will be a hen, and also split to blue. According to the GenCalc, it could also be Lutino Cinnamon/blue - although I don't know how accurate this is, and what, if possible, the visual differences b...

Day 21 (Sun 26.10.14) - Again, had to give the chicks a morning hand-feed, even though parents have been gorging themselves all morning, they don't appear to be passing any of it on to their chicks, (although as I write this, they are both in the nest box with chicks and it sounds like they may be f...

Ok, I've missed posting for a few days now, sorry. Things have been a bit hectic with work, and the bubba chicks. ADVICE PLEASE: Parents feeding one chick, but not other?
Hi all, just a query about whether it's 'normal' for the parent birds to load up one chick full of food before starting with the other? Pepper and Skittles have been doing a pretty good job with their 2 chicks so far, but I have noticed that they appear to be 'favouring' the younger red-eyed chick m...

Oh WOW! How lucky for you, Wessel, if that comes off. African Greys are such beautiful birds, and highly intelligent. Re: Blue pallidino male with Skyblue female
Hi Ricardo, based on those new pics, she could be maybe a blue pallid (lacewing), or a cinnamon blue - still too hard to make out. Better pics when you have her will help a lot. I did have the thought that if she turns out to be a blue pallid, it is possible that her dad could in fact have been a Gr...

Hi Ricardo. Had a look at your photo - it's too hard to tell from that pic what mutation your hen is. Best to try and get a pic of her in natural light during the day, but not direct sunlight. Hi Ricardo, Firstly, your "Skyblue" hen? Skyblue is the old term for a CinnamonBlue. Are you sure the dad was an Albino and mum a Blue (I'm assuming normal Blue?). It's just that this pairing cannot produce anything but Albino female chicks? Calculation looks like this: 1.0 blue ino x 0.1 ...

My two often fly down to the floor - (Pepper not so much ATM, as she is sitting on eggs) - to spend time walking around investigating - or go through the pile of 'bird debris' I've just swept up, in case there's a tasty morsel of food they'd put aside for a later date that mummy has rudely moved to ...

oh, wow.
I've not ever clipped my birds wings, so I could be wrong, but that looks like a pretty severe clip. I don't think I've seen any pics of other birds with flights clipped that short.
Hopefully someone else on this forum with more knowledge can give their opinion?
