Growth?
Rufus has got some kind of growth in between his upper and lower mandible. It's about 2-3 mm each way and looks like he got a piece of raisin stuck, but it's attached. I tried to get a picture, but he (naturally) was wiggling, so I don't know if it will show up well: m Does anybody know what it is a...

Rufus used to bite when he was about 3 or 4. He lets me pet him now, but not as much as Donovan, who will insist upon being petted for about fifteen minutes. Whenever Rufus bit me, I'd spray him in the face with a water bottle and he hated it. Now he only bites (and throws a tremendous tempertantrum...

She should...maybe play with her a lot. Do you bring your birds to dinner? I bring mine and they sit on the back of my chair and I hand them tid-bits. And if they think they're not getting enough food they'll let you know by jumping on your shoulder. Is she falling off because she's trying to get to...

I did it! (finally) I put Ringo and Brandy in their flight cage. They've been going at each other with their beaks, so I'm not sure if they're regurgitating or fighting...I'm scared. :p I like Ringo. There's even times when he looks like the Beatle. (Which explains why I *koff* "borrowed" ...

Do your birds like music?
Mine love it. Donovan gets all snuggly when I put on Donovan's greatest hits, especially Mellow Yellow..(the song I named him after :p) and Ringo likes the Beatles (not kidding here) and dances to a remix album I have of David Crowder Band's.

I'm actually bringing back another tame IRN, Donni (Donna, Donni...not much difference hey, you must be an IRN. How'd you get out of the cage?) My friends were keeping him, but they can't take care of him over Xmas...so maybe I'll just move Ringo and Brandy out because I haven't even put them in the...

Is he jealous?
I had to move the breeding pair (The Ringo and Brandy Team) into my room (now my "aviary") because they were too messy and it's too cold for them to go outside. Now Rufus, the spoiled little baby (not really--he's 7) bird brat has been coming off his cage and climbing up onto the top of th...

That happens to me too. (Only my bird hasn't been picking up bad habits.) Rufus will let my mom pet him when he's on his basket, but me? Only a little bit. Maybe and he might growl. He's finally staying on my shoulder for a longer time than usual and fluff out his feathers. (He almost always kept th...

Molting..
When does molting season usually start? Baby has just lost his two big tailfeathers and I've been finding itsy cute green ones (and some pink ones too!). However, both Ringo and Sweetheart have all their feathers and haven't lost any. Is there a reason why Baby is losing his feathers (he doesn't plu...

Yeah..whenever I go in my room to get something and turn the light on. He picks his head up, glares down at me from the top of the cage (he always sleeps up there, so there's not much point in covering his cage) and the he gives me a reproaching growl. My other birds in the living room I've been cov...

Greetings!
Hey! I'm Kristen and (right now) I have four Ringnecks. Rufus (green) was given to me as a 12th birthday present and I've had him for three, almost four years. He's six. I got him from my first cousin's wife who breeds Ringnecks. A year later, after I had handfed a cockatiel for some acquaintances, ...
