I think Elliott was around 8 mos old when he started really talking to the point where you could understand what he is saying.

I would say that is an o kay size as long as he/she gets time out of the cage daily.

It def sounds like she is moulting.

The bigger the better with an IRN. They may look like a small bird but their tail feathers get very long and if they don't have enough space they will end up with a stump! They say to buy the largest cage that you can afford.

Yes! This was Elliott's second moult and by far the worst one. He has been moulting for over a month now.

Petsmart sells this programable motion sensor mirror that allows you to record whatever you want and it really helped Elliott learn to talk. Just keep talking to him and concentrate on one ord or a phrase for a long period of time. GL!

The only thing I can suggest is remain patient with him. Don't let him see that biting gets a reaction out of you and don't stop taking him out because of it. It sounds like he is testing the waters to see what he can and can't get away with. GL!

I take Elliott to the vet to have his nails clipped. I am just not comfortable doing it myself. They also say that the sand perches help to keep them trimmed. I have tons in Elliott's cage but he prefers the rope perches so he doesn't use the others that often.

I am not an expert but Elliott did that when he was that age. He did it a lot when he was hungry and as soon as he saw the food coming towards him he would bob his head like crazy! Hopefully someone with more experience can give you more information!!!
