Thanks for the reply...I think you are right about the no cold turkey thing...I gave him pellet first thing and he's going totally rangy! I will try the apple juice thing...it's tricky but it sounds like a good idea. I have tried mixing them into his veggies...he eats around them...maybe if I make s...

a little support please
Hey folks. I have decided to switch Mojitos main diet to pellets. My decision is firm. I only mention this because I have tried on previous occasions and have flaked out. He refuses to eat them. And as soon as I can see he is hungry and refusing the pellets, I cave He gets his seeds back, he is a ha...

Blues and lutinos go for at least $300CAD. The only rinie I've seen in a petr store her was a lutino and they were asking $499CAD f...

Crazy Mo...what are you up to???
Here are a couple vids of Mojito (almost 7 months old) and I was wondering if anyone has any Ideas if this behaviour is indicative if anything. Mojito has been doing it every time I sit down at the computer. Perhaps he's just looking for attention...if that is it then obviously his master plan has w...

Thanks a bunch for all the tips. Mo is pretty good at eating his veggies and fruits. He likes is brown rice, broccoli, peas, anything leafy and green that he can rip into tiny pieces. I have tried some mushy stuff but he turns his nose up at it. He does not seem to have delveloped a preference to sma...

a few concerns (with pics)
Hi there! Our Mojito is almost 6 months old and I had a few questions about things he is going through. I have noticed that his beak is growing VERY rapidly! You can actually visibly see how much it has grown since we got him back in September. It seems that his beak is flaking alot and more recentl...

I think I will travel 'down under' sometime in my life just to go bird watching! There are very few Loris in Canada...even as pets, that I've seen anyways. How amazing to have such cool native birds! I think I would loose my mind to see such an amazing site with my own eyes! Thanks fo very much for ...

irn signing?
Has anyone ever seen an irn sign when they want something? Mojito did it a few times yesterday and I finally caught on to what he was doing...I think. I have him step up and once in position, he lifts one foot, curls it into a ball (as though he was grabbing something) then puts his foot to his mout...

We've only had Mojito for 1 week. We have however figured out by trial and error that he hates being covered and does not sleep if we do cover him early h/she will run around the cage and freak out until uncover him. Rather than stress h/her out we just make sure the room is darkened and he is back ...

A question??
Hi all. I have a quick question. In general, would you say that IRNs are slow and deliberate birds? Mojito is very slow moving and likes for us to move very slowly (unless there is corn involved, then he sure can move it ). Perhaps, it is just the way when IRNs are babies. Maybe h/she just behaves t...
