Thanks everyone! It really does sound like a great big "matter of oppinion thing" I think the idea of "a little bit of everything " is best as it is natural for hookbill birds to husk seeds I woyuld never take them away from Mojito 100%, ideally I'd like to reduce it to his favor...

a little support please

Hey folks. I have decided to switch Mojitos main diet to pellets. My decision is firm. I only mention this because I have tried on previous occasions and have flaked out. He refuses to eat them. And as soon as I can see he is hungry and refusing the pellets, I cave He gets his seeds back, he is a ha...

I think that if she was "handraised" and is still young she will be farmiliar with hands and may be more willing to let you handle her outside her cage. That was my experience anyhow. Mojito does not like to be handled while he is in his cage, or backed into a corner. As soon as he comes o...

We live in Canada. Our local breeders are selling hand fed greenies forusually $200CAD but you may luck out and find one for $150 (but usualy they will not be hand fed. Blues and lutinos go for at least $300CAD. The only rinie I've seen in a petr store her was a lutino and they were asking $499CAD f...

Is she in her cage when you approach her? I know Mojito did not like to be approached while he was in his cage at first. I just let him come out of his cage on his own, once he was outside he was happy to step up and be handled. It's as if his cage is "his" space, his safe place where he l...

Crazy Mo...what are you up to???

Here are a couple vids of Mojito (almost 7 months old) and I was wondering if anyone has any Ideas if this behaviour is indicative if anything. Mojito has been doing it every time I sit down at the computer. Perhaps he's just looking for attention...if that is it then obviously his master plan has w...

Hi there! Our Mojito is almost 6 months old and I had a few questions about things he is going through. I have noticed that his beak is growing VERY rapidly! irn signing?

Has anyone ever seen an irn sign when they want something? Mojito did it a few times yesterday and I finally caught on to what he was doing...I think. I have him step up and once in position, he lifts one foot, curls it into a ball (as though he was grabbing something) then puts his foot to his mout...

A question??

Hi all. I have a quick question. In general, would you say that IRNs are slow and deliberate birds? Mojito is very slow moving and likes for us to move very slowly (unless there is corn involved, then he sure can move it ). Perhaps, it is just the way when IRNs are babies. Maybe h/she just behaves t...
