Re: Nesting but not having eggs

Hi I'm in south Australia and my ringnecks are also doing the same. My pairs last year laid a good month earlier. but I'm confident they will lay soon. From talking to other breeders it seems to be a late season this year for ringnecks.
All the best :)

Re: cleartails & lacewings & combining the two?

Hi, sorry I think you may have misunderstood my post. Of course I know splits are not visual etc. . I was asking more for the genetic detail for if and how pallids and cleartails could be split for each other etc. basically if it were possible for my pallid to be split at all? As i have no history. ...

cleartails & lacewings & combining the two?

Hi all, I'm not sure if this topic has been covered before but I wanted to ask the genetic experts if it is possible to combine whwt with lacewings (pallids)? whether it be splits or visual. I have a blue lacewing hen that has the typical markings of a blue lacewing lacewing but a complete white tai...

Re: introducing turquoise into my whwt breeding stock

yes i'd love to put my cock to a violet turq/whwt hen but i am doing a swap with the breeder with a split blue conure and no violet turq splits are available. but there is always next season :) if i breed a violet turq in split or visual i could use it for the future.

Re: Help needed from aussie breeders!

hi there, a good website to check out australian prices on birds from decent breeders is Australian Bird Link (just google it) you may find a suitable mate for it. what you are looking for i would expect to pay around $250 for a mature good quality bird. as for hand reared babies, i think it really ...

Re: introducing turquoise into my whwt breeding stock

great thank you for your help! i believe only one parent (hen) is cobalt. just a question what does it mean when it says grey turquoise(parblue)Blue violet? what does this bird visually look like? is this masking violet? and also, if i go with the grey turq split and she is not masking cobalt will t...

introducing turquoise into my whwt breeding stock

hi all, i have a hard decision to make. i want to get a turquoise hen for my violet whwt cock. i can choose between two excellent quality birds from a top breeder one a turquoise blue/whwt hen or turquoise grey/whwt hen. the breeder says the turquoise grey/whwt is masking cobalt as there is a slight...

Re: identify who's the daddy??

Hey thanks for the reply :) pastel blue isn't cinnamon blue. pastel is also known as turquoise or rainbow (depending where you live/what you prefer to call it). i just thought that even if the green cock was split the green factor was just too dominant in this pairing to produce an albino. who knows??

identify who's the daddy??

hi all, i recently got 3 babies from a friend for hand rearing. Now that their colours have come through i believe the so called father is not the babies actual father (naughty hen). so the hen is a pastel blue (unsure if she's split to anything) and the cock that fed the hen and helped raise these ...

Re: mutation help

great thanks heaps for clearing that up for me :)
seeing as keeping the violet with the lavender i lose the lavender colouring i'd rather put a violet or blue hen with the violet male and perhaps a sky blue with the lavender? what other colours will help produce more lavenders?
thanks :)

hi all, i'm in need for some help because i have heard conflicting information about my ringnecks. firstly, i have a blue cock and grey hen on eggs paired for the first time this season both 2 year olds. I always thought they'd give me 50% blues and 50% greys but recently i was told from an experien...

violet x green/blue

hi all, so i have an opportunity to get a male violet and a female green split blue and i just wanted confirmation on breeding. to my understanding this would give: 12.5% blue and 12.5% blue = 25% blue 25% violet and 25% violet = 50% violet 12.5% green/blue and 12.5% green/blue = 25% green/blue is t...
