Well, yeah they're both like kiddies..! Spike does have his moods - he'll sometimes peck at Hoogie for trying... But then Hoogie himself can be quite cheeky too - like what he's doing, just doesn't want to give Spike any peace at all. If Spike stops eating or playing with the honeybell, Hoogie stops...

My IRN started talking at about 9-10 months of age.

First word he muttered wasl "Hello", and now include "Good Boy", "gi gi" - short for "Hoogie" - his name, and also "Wan An" - Good night in Mandarin.

Hi! Sounds like she behaves very differently from what she used to. I would advise that you bring her to the vet for a check. I have lost my bird once and always regretted not reacting to the situation fast enough (even though it might not save him at that point in time).

Hi! As long as your IRN does not sit at the bottom of the cage and is perching, I think it should be alright. I am not sure for IRN, but for other birds such as cockatiel, if they sit at the bottom of the cage, it may be signs of sickness. If that is the case, it may be good to have the bird checked...

I actually like grey coloured ringnecks very much. I saw one cinnemon one when I was considering a ringneck. However, they are more expensive than the green or blue ones (at least in New Zealand). You are lucky to have one!

One other way is for you to hang the toy outside the cage until he is comfortable with it before you move the toy into the cage.

The bird just needs time to adjust to new things.
