It certainly takes time, a calm soft voice and patience. Don't give up, Mojito has been with us for 4 months and she adores my hubby, but she does still proceed with caution and a little distrust. She wants to trust so badly, but she has such a shady past that it will take awhile. We have decided th...

Well needless to say she doesn't care for me much. But she does LOVE the hubby... She will do ANYTHING to get close to him. The nice thing is I am allowed to sit next to him as long as I don't attempt to touch her. But she coos and clucks for him. He is even able to pet her now. It is great. Only 4 ...

I just caught up to this post. Sorry you had to go through all of this. I am glad you are getting down to some possible ideas and how to go about fixing it. I would see if you could add some more toys to his cage that he might like. Ya know like things he can shred and destroy, I go through so many ...

Welcome to the forum. Just give Boo some time to settle in. I recently acquired a Female *Mojito* 3.5 months ago and she was pretty scared. Patience and a soft spoken Husband brought her around. She slowly lets him touch her and does have certain boundaries, but she really is trying. Good Luck and k...

Update!
Sorry I have not been around. I have been busy with three other forums and also slammed at work. I have a few updates regarding Mojito our rescue. She has fallen head over heals in Love with my hubby. She actively seeks his attention, will coast down off her cage to hang out with him, and lets him p...

Sorry I haven't posted in so long... Been busy Yes, both my birds drink from water bottles. It is easy to train them, just set the water bottle close to their favorite perch. When you notice them playing with it frequently try removing the water dish just for a little while and see if they go to the...

Yes, I know about the open top, I have heard some horror stories about it. I have the top reinforced to stay open with bungie cords in the back. Thank you for the warning. Yes, I think she is happy with it as well and this is great! She has enjoyed playing all over it! It is really cute to watch her...

Thank you everyone for your comments. After seeing what life will be like in this cage I have decided that it is just fine for now. The birds spent from 630 am to 500 pm out and about on their cages and play gyms. Sunday was close, from 1200 pm until about 630 pm out or on. During the week I open ca...

Yes, she can turn around without hitting her tail and it is plenty tall enough. I guess I just feel bad because Pistachio is in a bigger cage. But what you are really saying is it is too small. Well, I will see how she does in it over the weekend and if it is too small for her then I will just swap ...

Worried I bought a cage that is too small
I am worried that the cage I purchased is too small for Mojito and wanting some opinions. It is a Kings Cage that is a scalloped top. The top opens to a play gym. I think the dimensions are 22 in. W x 17 in. D x 63 in. H... Here is the link to the cage: m It is what I could afford for right now. She...

Depending on the show it can be nice to go. The show near my house every year is very well run and all birds must have a vet certificate and be checked by the show vet before entering the building. Now this doesn't mean that sometimes, I think some of the birds look rough. But being at a show and wi...

Melissa I also just acquired an IRN that I don't know the gender, age or true background on. I have had her for almost a month. Mojito Takin' a bath
Mojito really enjoys being spritzed. So this morning I gave her a good one. Here is her reaction to bath time. SHE REALLY ENJOYS IT! http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f159/Ohana29/100_2215.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f159/Ohana29/100_2214.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f159/Ohana29/...
