Yes. They are super gentle. Much gentler than ringneck. The way they walk also different. Alex would walk slowly, step by step. I manage to get him to fly to me on command. He can fly already. It is not unknown for IRN's to display 'odd' colour in their infancy. Often a blue bird show high percentages of black. This is usually temporary and it is normal for them to lose this during their moult. Although I have known red to remain on the yellow into adult plumage this trait has not proved...

yeah it does seem a bit early and a bit quick to get more red feathers. Indie my lutinos ring started as a little red dot at the back of the neck. The lutinos dont seem to get the ring starting in the same spot as the darker colors.It also takes longer for the whole ring to appear. today i found a few more spot of red along the ring line but, 10 months old, isnt it too...

o,the photo was a taken last sunday. the red feather has not develop yet. i will take the picture of the ring

im not too sure on how he open the door... the wooden chop stickis hung. tango some how acidentally or purposely manage to insert the chopstik in to the handle of the cage lock. so, if the bird push down the rope that hung the chop stick,the cage lock will be pulled up, which is how i we usually ope...

for mine, i trained tango the trick go home and will go home by herself when i say go home... but usually she will not enter the cage, she will just go to the top of the cage and wait for me...when i come and take a sunflower seed then she will go in and waitign for hei reward as a good girl... trea...

waaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwww.... so nice !!!!!!!! tango now have very little feather on the head...keep dropping... especially the head and wing feahter... there are 1 big bald patch on the head..not sure when those feather growing back...the wing start to grow already as i can feel the pin feather

it takes time...but just remebere to give alot of treat... like sunflower seeds...but dont give the treat in the diet...the treat only ment to be given direclty from your hand(for me ) and clip the wing to get the bird under control and make them depend on you it take times to touch the bird...conce...

Pickle was 2 years this september or so just gone. All the birds had been molting for a while but not noticeably except for lots of feathers flying about

tango is just 16 (edited)month old...i guess i have to wait for another 6 months?

i have contacted the vet, he said, see if the feather still manage to grow, then fine, if not, have to pull it out.... i think cant get the pic...it abit diff and the red colour can only be seen clearly under certain angle of lighning... the vet said, yellow IRN usually have this red colour...i also...

so sad...i don think the red feather is the ring...i notice it is the feahter around the ear, both side of the ear hole...the featrher around it has redish base...like the tail feather... i don think the ring grow so high up to the ear right? hmm, month back he look like molting, alot of soft feathe...

hi fah...its realy useful...i was thinking to get a tiel and budgie for free flight training anyway since tango has been stabilised...the vet insist me to pulled out the feather anyway as tango was start chewing the flesh after the feather finish...we detect it at very early stage when he just finis...

the orange was not on the tip, it is at the base..rather obvious, but not too sure about the placement...as it isonly 2 small feather...but i can see the white feather near the beak like black for green Irn...im not too sure though...hehe

ya...i know...it is juat i see alot in my my local hobist,...im not saying the idea was bad, just seen quiet a lot of cases small kid got bitten by their female love bird who become on heat and long long period on heat and agresion when they put in the tend...i ask coz, the idea was here 2 years ago...

tango wing feather has gone bad to worse...he practically has no feather...

i ask 1 of breeder here, they said tango remining chewed feather have to be removed, or else he can never regrow the new feather...

he is now in the progress of pulling off the feather

i brought tango to vet...he said tango has no medical isue, the chewing is cause by the trimmed feather irritating him, may be poking him...

most probably will be alright after molting

i think u tried to put her in a pearch...then slowly talk to her and give her treat(millet spray or sunflower seed)(if sun flower seed, peel it and devide the seed into few pieces then feed her one at times)...was she like that when she just come or just recently? if just recently, it might be bluff...

i think their movement is a little wierd to tango...like they have certain move and gesture that are deiffrent from my race...

i think it best if your bird trained to sit on your shoulder but willing to go back to your hand whenever you want...i think sitting on the shoulder give him more confidence in you... but you have to always let him know who is the leader... just take note that never let the bird on the shoulder when...

thanks alot chipos... i think it still best to still trimmed the feather... last time my tamest cockatiel flew away as i think he will never leave me as he was very clingy,,, when they get frighten, they will fly in random direction in top speed, they can hit the glass, ceilling or run off the windo...
