actually, if your feeding your birds correctly, they don't need that extra vitamin, as they usually get most of their moisture in their foods. this is when the home-made diet comes in. Lots of fruits and veggies, some seeds and nuts, and greens too. Beans and rice. I think I posted my recipie on her...

missing toes
Now, Mustard is missing a LOT of toes. Shes got 3 semi whole ones on one foot, and 2 on the other. I say semi, cause ones growing back, its got PART of the nail back. is this going to effect her breeding season? I mean, will he be able to mount her without her loosing balance? What sorts of perches ...

I don't make mac and cheese that often, and she gets even less than that, since lories can't handle ANY part of that Relish and Mustard love STRAWBERRIES! yum yum and sweet potato. http://i192.photobu...

well, its great that you think this way, but for the sake of an argument, since it was stated first... without animal products in their food and all the birds are at very good contition and never ill. If we want give extra proteins to birds a boiled egg yolk is perfect. your saying no animal product...

well, maybe my lorikeet is crazy since her poop doesn't change color! huh, maybe you could call a vet and ask.. and they wouldn't charge? The one single thing I hate the MOST about lory poop; I can't for the life of me figure out if its diarrhea or not! I mean, with all other birds, its easy; watery...

twice a year, whole blown coat. hes got this steady shedding year round which isn't TOO bad, but when he blows his coat.. this spring, it looked like christmas! I actually held him down and vacuumed him! White is a terrible color, specially living where I do; dirt road, black dirt driveway=yellow dog!

WHAT are you feeding your lorikeet? Diet changes shouldn't be a concern; no matter WHAT I feed mine, the color is ALWAYS that same brownish color... strawberries or not. I'm just asking what her main diet is, cause they really shouldn't be on the new lory pellets; all they are are normal pellets wit...

I'm in the process of getting and eclectus. (yea for me! hehe) and they don't do well on pellets. Now, I ran out of pellets yesterday (I CAN go get more, the thing is, I don't think I want to!! read on) but was making up a batch of ekkie food. the ringnecks LOVE it. Its base is beans and brown rice....

Okay... I'm looking at pictures, and trying to figure this all out. TRYING to is the key here. right now, I'm stuck on the INO gene. I take my lorikeet outside, but she has such a horrible clip, the farthest she goes is down.. its kinda sad, and scary when she hits things on the way down... but she also has a flight suit. I HAVE taken her out in that too, and it works.. adds a bit of weight though, just something to keep in mind.

I, honestly, don't remember what the previous owner told me that those little brown, round pellets that my IRN's are on, and since Zupreem is easier for me to get, they'll be converting over when the HUGE bag she gave me is gone. They also get fruits and veggies. Probably a few too many strawberries...
