i personally keep them clipped after letting them learn to fly first so that they can land. I didn't clip my first babies wings and he got out flew to the top of a massive tree and when he tried to come down he was swooped and chased away by minor birds

The baby i have decided to keep i noticed the other night has five toes on one foot, does anyone else have a bird with an extra toe?
it doesn't appear to work, just a little toe poking out the back of his foot should i be concerned?

every bird is different depending on their personality. I have found though with my alexandrines they do test you at bout 3-5 months to see what they can get away with but mine have been a bit more laid back then the ringnecks, not as nippy but much louder lol. hope that helps

i found wooden nest boxes about 6cm thick today with plenty of room for the alexandrines no way they are chewing through them so quickly destructive little things they are. i didnt think the metal ones would be any good and they were 150 bucks where as the wooden ones i found today were only 50 each...
