Thats why I wanted a vid if you could get one, the first pic had me thinking boy straight up. He may be too young to display any behaviours yet. But I if I had to put money on it, I would say boy from that first picture. The stance, the feet, the shoulder out look, the shape of the beak and cheek l...

We had to leave Gizmo out of the cage all night as trying to get him/her in was a nightmare,We try to get to the cage pretty quick to close the door when he/she pops in for something to eat,but we have been sussed I suppose the only way is resulting in getting wings clipped but we dont really want t...

Can you get a closer pic? That does not look good from the pic you have, It looks like it's nare is infected. Has this baby been vet checked? I strongly suggest that you take this baby to an avian vet ASAP. From other photos you have shared the baby just looks real unhealthy and I think another mem...

You're lucky you've only got grinding. My Nigel makes this annoying shrieking sound when he doesn't get his veggies fast enough in the morning...or he wants out, or just because he feels like it. Grinding noises are great! They are a contented sound. As for talking or other noise making...be patient. Sometimes it takes them a bit to get settled and start making a racket. Soon you will be happy when they shut up! Have any pics??? Love pics Dani Hi Dani,ty for assureing me all is ok with my G...

My Yoda had that too when we picked him up from the breeder. But it was very small and I didn't really notice it until we got home. I originally thought it was a bit wet or dirty around the nares since Yoda had a dirty tail aswell. It cleared up in a week though. The avian vet couldn't say either b...

settling
All depends on the bird itself. Was he hand raised ? is he relatively tame ? Tame, take him out straight up, play with him and show him his surroundings. Untamed, give it a week to get use to the surroundings, then take things one step at a time. our baby has come straight from the avery away from ...

The design of the cockatiel cages are not, I repeat NOT appropriate for IRN's as the bars that bend around the edges are far too easily moved apart with only just a little pressure of a bird trying to escape it, and the bars of your cage look so thin that movement would be even easier. The bars mov...

Very silly question
I feel rather daft for asking this but my partner has asked: just purchasing our bird today, and being in a new cage it has to get used to its surroundings. Will it know to find the feeders as it was in an outdoor avery and knew where the original food source was, just with only being 10 weeks old an...

Hi Norm and Donna, Nice Blue baby you got there. Do you have more pictures of the baby? Seems to me the baby is going through an unusual moult with what seem like irregular feather growth. Kinda unusual for a 10-week old baby who should be fully-feathered especially in the wing area. But it may jus...
