Indian ringneck found/taming and housing advice

Hi there I have been a member of this forum for a few years now as I own an IRN, however, the other day we spotted one flying around outside in the wild and managed to catch it. I live in New Zealand so this is clearly someones pet or aviary bird. Basically it was as simple as putting and old cage w...

Re: do indian ring necks enjoy millet??

Hi

Yes, mine eats it, but make sure its a treat. I think i gave Jasper millet too often and now shes not as keen on it. Also, i assume its like regular seed-high in fat but low in nutrition, so it should probably be a treat anyway :)

Re: Help: egg laying

I took her to the vet yesterday just to check it out. The vet said she had a large egg inside so they decided to keep her in an incubator over night and give her some calcium shots. She still hadn't laid so they put her under anesthetic and got it out in pieces..they could only keep her under for so...

Hi,

Your bird looks sooooo much like mine :) The breeder thought she was a he, but dna said female. So jasper has a boys name haha. She gets very aggresive with objects and reflections, she also clucks alot.

Do you know for sure the sex of your bird, or just waiting?
