How can I tell if my irn has a broken wing?

My bird has her wings clipped, but keeps on jumping (far distances) off the top of her cage... She lands smoothly, but sometimes i notice she hits her right wing on the way down... sometimes, i notice the wing is lifted a little, which seems kinda weird to me, but maybe its my paranoia.... I am taki...

Re: IRN owner with an African Grey molting question

Thank you for your replies! I will try changing the toys around more often and spraying him more (he's water-phobic lol)... Do you think that sour apple spray might help?

IRN owner with an African Grey molting question

Since the forum I belong to for african greys isn't nearly as great as this one, I figured I'd post my question on here.... How can I tell if my CAG is molting? Over the past 2-3 days, I've seen a lot of his front and down feathers on the bottom of the cage (I've seen him even "shake" some...

RIP, Martini, Our Little Chick!! xoxo

Even though we only had her for a few weeks, her passing definitely took its toll on our family. She was only a few weeks old when she was taken from us, succumbing to illnesses brought on by her (recalled) handfeeding formula. She was a beautiful little chick and will never be forgotten. Copy and p...

My 4 month old REFUSES to drink water

I have (what I think to be) a problem. One of my 4 month old ringnecks REFUSES to drink or go near water. I am still handfeeding her, even though she doesnt take much anymore. I even try "tricking" her by putting water in the dropper instead, but she's no fool- she will lock her mouth shut...

my 2 ringnecks hate each other =/

I have 2 ringnecks- approx 4 months old. They were soo affectionate with each other when we first got them and had them in a tank (they were 4 weeks old)... Once we transferred them over to a cage, they "tolerated" each other; but if they get too close to each other, they (viciously) try t...

How can I fix a rusted cage?

I found a great deal ($80) on craigslist for a cage.... Drove 69 miles to pick it up (138 miles round trip lol) so I was definitely coming home with SOMETHING lol.... Needless to say, I loved the cage, but lots of rusting...... Is it worth it to fix it? If so, how? If its going to be toxic, I'll thr...

Is there such thing as a 'runt of the litter' w/ringnecks?

After losing my 6 week old lutino ringneck to kaytee hand feeding formula, my breeder gave me 2 more ringnecks- a green and a blue. They were babies (roughly 3/4 weeks old)....but approximately 1 week apart (according to my breeder); the "older" one was obviously larger. Now both ringnecks...

My Ringneck Died Because of Kaytee Hand Feeding Formula!!

Our gorgeous little 6 week old lutino Indian Ringneck was killed by Kaytee Hand Feeding Formula! Poor baby had to suffer for 2 weeks on medication and had to endure many visits to the vet and hospital before dying in my husbands hands last Wednesday... My little chick never had a chance to grow into...

My baby Indian Ringneck just had a sneezing fit.....Help!

Just wondering if it is normal for baby IRNs to sneeze..... I just adopted Martini, our 4 week old yellow IRN... She's cute, cuddly, and sooo lovable!! We've had her for 6 days and she just started sneezing on and off for like 15 min. Clear fluid also came out of her nose. She appears to be healthy ...
