Hello, It sounds like Flippers, your female ringneck, has developed a habit of contact calling when you're not in the same room as her. Hello, It's clear that you're concerned about the relationship between your Indian Ringneck parrots, Zazu and Renee. Although they seem to get along well when they are both in their cages, Renee becomes aggressive and appears to bully Zazu when they are let out. This situation can be challenging, an...

You mentioned that the female spends time in the nesting box and displays pre-laying behavior, but the ...

Re: Could it be the yellow bird's parents? The baby bird will be green.

Wow! What a cute little fellow! It all depends on what genes the birds carry. Even though both parents are yellow, they both carry the green dominant gene which produced a green baby. That means even though your baby ringneck is green, it also carries different genes. Kinda crazy, huh? I wish I knew...

Welcome. :) How I sex my ringnecks is by looking at their feet. Females have more stockier feet and thicker toes while males have more daintier feet. It's the female the needs more strength during breeding to prepare the nesting cavity when she is scratching around before breeding. :) Works about 95...

It all depends on the bird. Some start around 8 months but Archimedes took 15 or 18 months--i can't remember. If there is no ring by the third year it's a girl :)
