Re: what tricks is there to teach?
Hi chuckles I'm glad your bird is doing well. I personally wouldn't get your bird out of the cage by grabbing it unless it was really, really, really necessary. You need to try to coax it out with food. Even if it takes a couple of weeks. Be patient. Find out what your birds fav foods are, withdraw...

can i force my bird to change their diet?
currently my bird will only eat french millet and apple , no matter how many kinds of fruit and vegetables i offer him he wont eat it . so i thought maybe i can remove his seed mix "which he only eat millet out of the mix" and put banana or cucumber so that i can introduce him to a new food?

i put it in and the results were great , he started making sounds like crazy , it is really amazing what a cheap small mirror can do to a ring neck . btw i forgot to mention this in the original question but will my bird reflection in the mirror hurt my bonding with the bird?

Re: my bird wont come out of its cage
He may just prefer to come out of his cage on his own. I rescued a pair of cockatiels where they would freak out if you stuck your hand in the cage to try to get them to step up but if you left the door open they would come out and step up from the top of the cage. Your little one sounds very sweet...

Re: my bird wont come out of its cage
Yes i read your other posts aswell. I think you need to work on your respect for your bird (if i may be so bold). It sounds to me like you need to chill out and back off - and give your bird some time and rest. These are smart animals! They're not like dogs, they're not here to please their owners ...

Re: giving up on my irn
I think it takes a lot longer than 2 weeks for any bird to really settle in (Obviously does depend on the bird itself) When we got Sullie, it took him well over a month to settle in and longer to make any sounds at all, he was just silent for well over a month, maybe two - Your IRN sounds like a lo...
