your buying a bird dog - the two in the room with the bird out of the cage is a no no if you dont want a dead bird IMO. instinct will kick in whether you like it or not. dont care what anyone else - something bred into a dog will come out. Earlier tonight my gsd was laying down and sneezed...BB lite...

it's not mean - it's called modifying behaviour and its perfectly reasonable

you should go and do a search for "extinction bursts" online - you might find some stuff at clickersolutions.com

works for animals and kids too LOL

your solution lies in theclicker +

get two
http://www.clickertraining.com/store/?item=traininggear
set one to click - the other to chirp or whistle or just use one and use the original clicker

here are a few articles on training too
http://www.clickertraining.com/allanimals

i hope youre weaning him off the clicker for every learned behaviour.

I had him in that big cage I showed you all but its far too big - it will be ideal for an eccy or a cockatoo later but he was getting trapped here and there and though he loved the cage it was just that much too big so he is now in a 90cm X 50 X 50 cage - he frea...

Im somewhere between an IRN and Alexandrine right now.

I have an offer of a 5 month old Alexandrine - possibly male - for $200 and a blue hand raised IRN lacewing for $150. Im thinking my cage - its about 4-4.5ft for the cage itself - might be a little small for an Alexandrine
