FEED - SUNFLOWER KERNELS
Please can anyone advise me as to whether I am able to feed sunflower kernels to my Alexandrine? I bought some at the supermarket the other day thinking it would be great, but then found an article about seeds that made me wonder - I feel that it would be OK in view of the fact that the birds eat th...

Running away
Hi all, I don't seem to be having much luck with the training (and/or taming) of my IRN's. Whenever I go to get Topaz out of the cage we have this frantic leaping, screeching and running around before it will "step up" on the stick that I use, then once out of the cage, flutters down on th...

Boy I wish that I had known about the bar spacing before I spent $254 on a beautiful cage - bars too wide apart and birdie nearly got out!! Now this cage stands empty and I am trying to sell it because I don't want to get any more birds and equally I don't want to put bird wire right around the cage...

WEll I took Jade out of the cage for the first time this morning, well more like allowed J to find its own way out, used one of the toys on the ramp to encourage. It worked!! I found out though that we can fly a little better than I would like, so I may have to take another couple of flight feathers...

Our vet is just an ordinary vet - none of them in our area know anything about birds! I have no idea what I will ever do if there is anything badly wrong with any of the birds. I had a look at Vetfarm - was actually looking for pellets, but didn't see anything that resembled the Daily essentials 3 a...

Jade still won't let me near it in the cage, this is what happens when I step up near the cage, or put my hand in gently on one of the perches (also did the smae with hubby when he was close to the cage) - my question is is Jade bluffing, or is this more serious? http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...

We might have to put in a couple of dollars each, so that the site owner can upgrade to a large bandwidth - do you think that members would go along with that? Reading with interest everyone's thoughts on wings - I have had Sapphire done - but if I want to do one of the others, has anyone got a good illustration of how exactly to do it? Have any of the forum members used any of the following ebooks or videos to train their birds?
www.birdtricks.com
www.parrotsecrets.com/parakeets/
If you have, could you let me know whether they are a worthwhile investment as I don't want to buy unnecessary so called "help" files.

How do you tame an INR which doesn't appear to have ever been handled at all? I'm talking about Sapphire.
