Alex's aren't that expensive, around $250-$350. Its the end of the season now though so they are hard to find handraised or parent raised. There is nothing wrong with having your fid 'sent' you, all four of my babes took a flight on a plane to get to me. Its just that some people prefer to pick a bi...

Chickie I love that cage, nearly bought one from that eBayer. Occy good on you for asking about IRN's before you go out and get one. They are wonderful birds, why stop at one? Lol why not get several? Their real clowns, I can spend hours watching mine run amuck in the bird room. You've been given so...

I have cats and dogs and birds and kids. The birds are separated from the other animals by two doors which are always locked. Sophia can see the birds through the glass window near the door, because I could never ever trust dogs, cats, kids near my feathered babes. I would feel to guilty if something ...

Two of mine do, two don't. Biscuit and Ollie pack themselves away into their cages the moment the sky grows dark (all my cages are left open now that they all play nicely)Pepper sleeps at the very top of the boing nearest her cage, and Silk sleeps on the shower perch attached to the kitchen window (...

The Cholla cactus perch is from My Parrot Shop m (that links straight to the perches section). That was the only place that I could find that supplies them (there is one other but they are never 'in stock' so.....) I love their perches, but their toys are too expensive and very easy to make (hehee )...

Pepper and the gang
Well after my wonderful cuddle ended I put Pepper and Silk back out to play on the cages/playgym with Biscuit and Ollie. I was taking some pictures and Pepper put her foot out to step up! And I got it on camera too! She stepped up for me from the Cholla perch that she was sharing with Biscuit. How c...

The best cuddle
I just had the best cuddle ever. Was just sitting at the computer, looking through various posts with Silk sitting on my shoulder. Pepper has been watching me from the play stand on the computer desk near me. I reached up to give Silk a scritch and saw Pepper, out of the corner of my eye, climb down...

Welcome to the board. Gordie is such a cutie. You said you handfed him? I would really love to be able to do that, I wish there was someone nearby who could show me but I don't know any birdfolk here in Hervey Bay. Be sure to post more pics (I am getting in first hehee) he certainly in a lovely look...

Fruit and Veg grocery list
I am doing my fids food shop tomorrow and was curious about how much others spend on their fids food? Pellets always cost a fortune but last me about 6 weeks (that's going on how long it takes for my four tiels to go through a kg bag of pellets). I buy: one bag of pasta shells each week and a small ...

Some things weren't meant to be enjoyed by all. I think Indian Ringnecks are one of those things that people either click with straight away or don't.I love all birds, and have had good experiences with nearly all the birds (fids) I have meet. There are always going to be uneducated people out there...

All playing nicely
I have had such a good last two days. All IRN fids have been playing together, both on playgym, table tops and cage tops. I had a good laugh when Silk and Biscuit played tough o war over a paddle pop stick, with Silk winning and scurring off with her prize, only to drop it off the end of the table. ...

pellets aren't that hard to find. Don't know where you are in the world, but just about everything you need (and a few things you probably don't) can be bough easily over the net. You don't even need a credit card now a days, bPay (which is like a direct deposit into their bank account) is how I buy...

No pellets, but Silk does plop everything else that isn't nailed down in there. She likes to bob for apple peices (I kid you not) in her water bowl. About four water changes a day sounds about right, everyone dives in for a bath after the first water change then every couple of hours I go out and 'c...
