My two terrors love their corn. Its usually a fight to see who gets to rip off the outer layer first. Silk puffs herself up and squawks at Pepper, who ducks out of the way and usually runs off clutching a peice of the corn leaf. Just a few pictures, all featuring above mentioned corn. And I will add some pictures of the new play gym I picked up last sunday past. I have got to get rid of the horrible blue twine on it, dangerous AND ugly a very bad combinat...

The painted parrot does them Matt, thats where I have ordered mine from.
http://www.thepaintedparrot.com.au/Perches_Swings.htm

It says the diameter of the perch is 3/4 inch, for small to medium birds so IRN should be ok. I haven't got mine yet though so....

Playing

I know my Indian Ringneck is just a wee baby now but I have been buying new toys and am picking up a new play gym at the end of the week. Also trying to get clearance from hubby to hang some birdie bungee ropes and boings from the ceiling. So I guess my question is at what age do they start to play,...

Mikaela, its too late. Already addicted to my fids lol. Hubby is always saying the same thing to me "Didn't you promise that this one would be the last one?" Well at least we agreed on this new bubba, which is something I suppose. I am a bit of a sneak though, I buy bird toys and burry them down the...

What wonderful colours! She's a SI isn't she? I can never tell the difference, they all are pretty birdies though. No wonder she hogs the camera, being that good looking I would want people taking pictures of me too.

Yep Matt, I was shocked when I heard about how much cockatoo's cost over in the states. I wish we had some of the amazon species more readily available over here though, without the huge price tag . One good thing about our limited variety is we don't have a huge problem with birds being thrown away...

They both are really gorgeous Dani. How old is Aggie? Macaws are wonderful birds, unfortunately they cost both an arm and a leg over here. I am trying to 'persuade' hubby to let me save up for a caique one of these days (around $4000 au) and seeing as that is a big no no, I wouldn't even bother tryi...

Is that a lacewing in your avatar? So those sort of mutations are mostly kept by breeders? Here is another question for you (lol since you haven't minded any of the other thousands of questions I have plied on you) Do you mostly breed for pets or for your own aviary? Just tell me when I have asked t...

Jeremy, do you ever hand raise the more exotic mutations? The violets, the lacewings etc? All the hand raised babies I see for sale are always green, blue and lutino and sometimes grey? Don't get me wrong, I love IRN for the bird themselves but as always am curious about the flashy mutations that are...

thanks Jeremy, I thought the same thing too, about it being illegal to sell them unweaned. But then again I see so many breeders advertising unweaned babies that I wasn't sure. Which makes me ask another question. When weaning babies do you use abundance weaning? How do you know when they are weaned...

Hello everyone!!

Hi guys, Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. My names Katie, I live in sunny Queensland Australia. My husband and I have 3 fids, 2 tiels called Murro and Mullani and a feisty Quaker (or should I say quacker) called Miroki. We have been umming and arring for a while now over what kind of bird...
