Pits you'll find that vetafarm is often repackaged in pet stores and sold as generic "hand rearing mix" or "pellet mix". I can think of at least 2 pet stores in Geelong that have that. My wife bought the pellets so I'm not sure what sort they are, I'll find out.

We got a 5kg bag of pellets for less than $10. As such, we're only about 3/4 through it and we've had it for a year. Sunni gets 40%seed, 30% pellets and 30% other (other includes fruit, veggies, salsa, occasionally sunflower seeds, etc). Sunni hasn't tried chips, tried a dorito once which she liked.

Buderim hey? My favourite coffee comes from the macadamia factory there!

What sort of prices do your ringnecks sell for Jeremy?

Do you find they respond better to the more humid climate in SE Qld?

1. Use full stops. Punctuation and grammar is your friend. Also I won't continue to get eye burns from reading your posts. 2. Beak grinding is a sign of contentment, equivalent to the sound of a child giggling and giving you a hug. 3. Sunflower seeds should make up no more than 5% of their diet. The...

Smithy, How big is the cage? Is it an interesting place to be? Have plenty of entertaining things to do for the ringneck, and spend some time talking to it through the bars without letting it out. Do this for a couple of days and it'll associate the cage with safety. Ringnecks need their haven to fe...

Thanks!

Veggies with lots of exciting colours are great, they'll look fun to play with, not to mention ringnecks love to get all messy. I give Sunni a mix of beans, peas, carrot and corn. One day she'll eat all the carrots along with everything else, the next day she'll meticulously go through and pull out ...

We made Sunni a 5 ft tall perch out of some dowel and natural branches. She loves to peel strips off the branches, then try to hold the strip with one foot and chew on it. The only really mischevious thing she does is when we turn our back she will fly from the perch across the lounge to our budgie'...

Unfortunately you're just reinforcing negative behaviour for your bird. Unless you stop pulling away, you're going to have problems. One thing to try, is to offer the back of your closed fist to your bird, she won't be able to get a grip so will get frustrated and quit biting. If she continues to tr...

Here's my fave pic of Sunni.

Cheers!
