It might be getting a little bit noisier round here (though not much) I'm getting a baby Sennie in a week or so. I'm just waiting on him/her weaning.
I've popped some pics in my photobucket,

Gandalf flying to my hand.
A couple of short vids (appologies for the poor quality) of Gandalf flying to my hand, we've only been working on this for a few weeks so I'm quite pleased, especially since she wasn't hand reared.
Forgive the lovebirds and the dog making a racket in the background.

I'll soon know if a name change is in order.
I've just sent off for a feather collection kit so that I can have Gandalf dna sexed. He/she'll be one year old on 19th of May and it will be nice to know with a some degree of accuracy whether Gandalf is a he or a she (I think a hen though I always give male names until proven otherwise, no idea wh...

By personality we are meaning it's individuality and traits as a bird, the unique things that make a bird a bird, you don't buy a parrot and expect it to act like a dog or hamster, parrots have common traits in behaviour etc that make them unique, this is what we are asking any potential owner to fu...

Please don't buy a bird just for it's potential to mimic, or even partly for it's potential to mimic, some ringnecks will talk, some won't, the same goes for any special of parrot, even birds renowned for their talking ability like CAGs. Choose a bird and admire it for the ways in which it is differ...

I'm lucky, he will eat practically anything so it is easy to give him a great diet. I think in the pics he is tucking into Carribean Crunch Beak Appetit mixed with some soaked, sprouted pulse and seed mix and grated carrot. Every mealtime it's all I can do to persuade him to wait until the bowl is i...

Gandalf's mummy evidently didn't instill in him the importance of good table manners.

New Arrivals
I was contacted earlier in the week by a member of Simon's R/C racing club, they were looking after two young lovebirds that belonged to a relative who had recently passed away but they couldn't keep them due to an allergy. They asked if anyone could take them and I said I would love to. They arrive...

New pics and vid of Gandalf.
I've taken some new pics and a video of Gandalf, now aged 11 months. He isn't doing anything especially exciting in the video as he's too busy noseying at the workmen outside today.
Sorry about the low quality of the video, I'd forgotten I had my phone on the lowest quality setting.

Not been around for a while.
Hi all,
I've not been around for a while, probably since last October or so, it's a long story, won't bore you all to death with it here.
Gandalf my albino IRN is now 11 months old, time has flown by so fast.
I will take some new pictures of him soon, he's really growing up now.

Gandalf's favourite toy.
Here's a short clip of Gandalf playing with his Widget foot toy, seems to be his favourite right now, apart from bits or screwed up paper and wooden clothes pegs.

Gandalf is trying to talk!
I'm so proud of my baby. Gandalf is now 16 weeks old and has begun to try talking. Several times over the past few days he has been sitting on the top of his cage pinning his eyes like mad and trying to say 'Watcha Doin?' It isn't really words yet but definately has the rhythm and infection of the ...

I decided to try him on Harrisons because I used to feed it to the last bird I had ( a white fronted amazon, now left home for a life of unashamed baby making) I've also used Zupreem in the past and found it very good. I don't have the problem of my vet high pressure selling as the surgery doesn't s...

Thanks for the advice Mik, I never feel stupid cooing and chatting to my birds, I tend to talk like that to all my pets, I am a dog trainer so I'm used to using a high pitched motivational tone of voice, not manically excited but light and calm and soothing. I had another brief session with Gandalf ...

Getting to know Gandalf
As some of you will know I am a new mum to Gandalf a 12 week old parent reared albino IRN. I collected him on Saturday and have been spending time sitting by his cage letting him get used to me being around and talking to him. Today I took the plunge and started the training process, I let him out o...

Harrisons Advice Please
Gandalf has been here 24 hours now. At the moment he is being fed the same seed mix he was eating at the breeders, I offered him a bowl of peppers, carrot and brocolli this morning and he has been eating that all day in preference to the seeds. I do want to change him on to Harrisons however instead...

Hi from Derby, UK
Hi, My name is Mandy and I have just bought (today) a 12 week old albino IRN named Gandalf, ( I don't know the gender but I'm just treating him as male until I'm proven otherwise). Gandalf isn't hand reared but has been raised in close proximity to humans and is fairly steady when you approach his c...
