Re: My little mate wont stop screaming!
i always keep some plastic items , card board boxes etc and when mittu screams i put them in the cage or when he is out i leave them with him and he gets busy biting and tearing them to pieces. another alternative is to cover the cage with a cloth and ignore them for sometime - it works like magic

since the bird is already 5-6 months old it is not accepting you as the owner still - suggest you keep the cage around the place where you work, watch tv etc , it wont happen immediately but slowly it will start losing fear of you - and as someone suggested eat in front of the cage and leave pieces ...

my alexandrine started making noises from around 4 months and actually talked (most of the time its mumbled but when you realise what they talk its clear to us -atleast to the person who has been patiently talking and teaching them) - it was in the 8th month - he has 5 words in his dictionary now an...

covering according to me is fine, mittu doesnt make a single noise until i open the door , he is left all alone in the room and i draw the curtains to make sure it isnt too bright in the morning - i am an early bird so i am always up by 6 am rain or shine , i open the door for him by around 6.30 aft...

I am not an expert on any of these issues, but my alexandrine mittu is all over the place trying to bite and break things, so i keep giving him few of these items : used ball pens ( without refills), any card board boxes which come thru shopping (cereals , malt, egg cases etc), old tooth brushes, wo...

For a 9 week old bird you could try soaked (4 hrs) chick pea, they love it , additionally you can try boiled veggies (they eat very less but nevertheless you could try) , in case of chick pea you can break it into smaller pieces so that they can digest it easily.. good luck

Hi, if your bird is 4 weeks try soaked chana daal - soak it for around 3-4 hrs and feed by hand they just gulp it off like a machine - you can break each part into two for easy consumption for them - continue like this for another two to three weeks , later on you can try rice , pieces of vegetables...
