Re: Suggestions please!

Thank you for all the replies! This helps. We're going to have his cage re-powdercoated black. It is cream in color right now. Black will match our home decor better anyway. I like several ideas that have been mentioned. I do have a budgie cage. Maybe it will be worth it to have one. Giji was around...

Re: Suggestions please!

Thank you for your insight, everyone. First of all, I never said Giji is bothering the neighbors. We haven't had a complaint yet. It is nerve racking to realize we could get a complaint and then will be forced to re-home him. But as of right now, we haven't had a complaint. I realize the risks of ha...

Suggestions please!

Hello everyone. I am in desperate need of some help. I have a male IRN who will be 2 years old in March. Let me first explain my situation and then his bad behavior. I live in a 2 bedroom upstairs apartment. I have neighbors on 3 sides and neighbors below me. My kitchen and living room is combined i...

Your birds are beautiful :) what kind of mutation do you call the one that has a greenish yellow body and a yellow head? My female looks just like it.

Re: Need opinion AGAIN!! HEHEHEH

I'm pretty sure that's a male. My male starting getting a ring at 9 months. And at 15 months more colors are coming in. Although males get their rings at different stages and personally that's not the best way to tell. Females weigh more than males and have bigger, stalkier feet. My female has flesh...

Re: Can I see your home made cage or aviary?

Those cages are beautiful. My husband made a bird cage out of metal and plexiglas for our IRN when he was 7 months old. We rescued him when the previous owner had clipped his wings so short that they would bleed and irritate him. He couldn't flutter to the ground so we were afraid he might break his...

Breeding my IRNs -housing

Hello everyone, I have a few questions. 1. I've never bred IRNs before but I'd love to. I have a pair of IRNs. My cock is a Green Indian Ringneck. I believe he's a pure bred Green IRN because he has turquoise tints in his green feathers and yellow under his wings and tail. Also, I'm pretty sure my h...

Re: Maybe possibly get to keep my "temporary" IRN

Considering the fact that you've cared for this bird for 3 months now, I would NOT pay over $75 for her AND the cage. But that is only because you have put a lot of your own time and money into the care of this bird without anything in return. The care you have given this bird should be used as comp...

That's really neat. Sam is a really sweet bird. He gives kisses and dances, bobbing his head up and down while swaying. All 3 of mine are sweet little birdies :) Your blue Indian Ringneck, Buddy, is gorgeous!

Re: Training our IRN to speak.

Giji, our green IRN started talking at 7 months. Although, the first thing he learned was the "cat call" whistle my husband taught him  Now he is 10 months old and says: What are you doing? Good boy Come Here Gimme a kiss! Thank you He also says "WOO". He learned all of this...

Feather advice...please help!

Gijet is a 10 month old green IRN. His previous owner had clipped his wings way too short, up to the contour feathers. We are quite angry about this. We cannot put him up high because he cannot even flutter safely to the ground. We're afraid he'll break his sternum so he is kept above or on carpet w...
